IMPITA MPITA e-BSA
The focus of the institute is on offering full time academic programs in information technology at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. These programs are designed to incorporate several powerful features that help a student evolve into a complete professional ready to be recruited by a wide spectrum of industries. These features include synthesis of computing science courses with current tools and technologies, emphasis on mathematical and communication skills, electives for specialization, projects, term papers, seminars and a rigorous continuous evaluation mechanism. Most of these programs also enable a student to obtain a recognized degree or a diploma from a University or a professional body such as Sikkim Manipal University or the DOEACC Society along with the diploma from CIIT.
1. Integrated Masters Program in Information Technology Applications (IMPITA)
IMPITA is a five year full time integrated post graduate program in information technology applications. The minimum qualification for the program is twelve years (10+2) of school education or its equivalent. The selection is based on a national level entrance test and the performance in the board examinations at the secondary level. IMPITA leads to the following certifications.
CIIT awards "Integrated Post Graduate Deploma in Information Technology Applications" on successful completion of the program. The IMPITA program has been designed to also cover the curriculum leading to the following academic degrees and professional certificates.
"O", "A" and "B" Level Certificates from the DOEACC Society. Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Technology from Sikkim Manipal University. Master of Science Degree in Information Technology from Sikkim Manipal University. Certifications from Microsoft or Sun Microsystems.
The program offers a powerful mix of conceptual courses in computing science and technology and courses based on latest tools and products. For the holistic development of students the program also includes courses in maths, communication skills and management.
Note: The DOEACC 'B' Level Certificate has been granted equivalence to MCA (Master of Computer Applications) for employment purposes, by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India vide Gazette Notification No. F.2/6/97-T.S.IIIA (.) 54 dated September 26, 2000.
2. Masters Program in Information Technology Applications (MPITA)
MPITA is a three and half year full time postgraduate program in information technology applications. The minimum qualification for the program is an undergraduate degree. The selection is based on a national level entrance test, performance in the board and university examinations and a personal interview. MPITA leads to the following certifications.
CIIT awards "Post Graduate Deploma in Information Technology Applications" on successful completion of the program. The MPITA program has been designed to also cover the curriculum leading to the following academic degree and professional certificates.
“B” Level Certificate from the DOEACC Society. Master of Science Degree in Information Technology from Sikkim Manipal University. Certifications from Microsoft or Sun Microsystems.
3. Post Graduate Diploma in eBusiness Solutions Architecture (eBSA)
eBSA is a ten months full time postgraduate program in eBusiness or eCommerce solutions development. The minimum qualification for the program is an undergraduate degree with excellent academic background. The preference would, however, be given to students with professional degrees such as MTech, BTech, MCA, BCA or MBA.
eBSA is a platform specific professional program that allows a student to specialize in specific high-end platforms and tools for developing eBusiness Applications. The program offers specialization in either Microsoft or Java stream and leads to appropriate certifications from Microsoft or Sun Microsystems. Depending on the specialization the course covers latest technologies like Core Java, SWING, CORBA, EJB, Java Beans, JSP, WAP, WML, XML, JavaScript, Servlets, VBScript, ASP, COM/DCOM, UML, Oracle Database Server, MS SQL Server etc.
eBSA is spread over three parts as following:
Part 1: 4 Months
Object Oriented programming using Java
Operating System Fundamentals through Linux and Windows
RDBMS Concepts using Oracle 8i
Networking infrastructure for ecommerce
Structured documents for Web publishing (HTML, XML)
Part 2: 4 Months
User Interface Development in Java (SWING)
Advanced Programming Techniques in Java (Multithreading, JNI, JDBC, Design patterns)
Distributed and enterprise computing (RMI, Java Beans, EJB, CORBA, WAP)
Web Programming (JavaScript, Applets, Servlets, JSP)
E-commerce management
Object Oriented Analysis and Design (UML)
Part 3: 2 Months
