With increasing globalization, the companies today are looking for persons with all round capabilities. The role of Extra Curricular Activities in the overall development of students cannot be over emphasized.
The Extra Curricular Activities being planned in the institute can be categorized into the following groups.

- CIIT Information Science & Technology Journal
- Academic Activities
A committee of students manages each of the above activities. A faculty member head these committees.
All the students in the institute are grouped into four houses for intra extra curricular activities. Each House has a House Captain.
Institute Extra Curricular Activities Committee
IECAC is a body responsible for promoting the extra curricular activities within the institute. IECAC is chaired by Dean Student Affairs and has the following members- CAC President, CAC Secretary, GSC President, GSC Secretary, AAC President, AAC Secretary, Patron of the Campus Newsletter, Chief Editor of the Campus News Letter, Chief Editor of CIIT ISTJ, and House Captains.
CCL also offers customized training programs based on specific requirements of organizations. These programs can be offered at client site, minimizing the cost of dislocation for the participants.
Cultural Activities Committee (CAC)
CAC is headed by President, who is a faculty member. The committee has one Secretary and four Deputy Secretaries. The respective profiles are as follows.
- Committee President: A faculty member is appointed as Committee President and is responsible for a) selecting the Secretary b) getting budgets sanctioned c) defining committee rule book.
- Committee Secretary: The Committee President appoints a student as the Committee Secretary. The Committee Secretary does not belong to any house. He is responsible for a) developing annual activity plan b) organizing committee meetings c) execution of plan.
- Deputy Secretaries: Each house has a House Cultural Secretary, who in turn is also a Deputy Secretary in the CAC. The House Captain appoints the House Cultural Secretary in consultation with the CAC President and Secretary.
Games & Sports Committee (GSC)

Campus Newsletter Editorial Board
The Campus Newsletter will have a Faculty Member as a Patron. The Editorial Board, inclusive of the Chief Editor, will consist of students.
CIIT Information Science & Technology Journal
ISTJ has a Faculty Member as the Chief Editor. The rest of the editorial board consists of faculty members and students.
ISTJ is a national level journal for students, which is published, in printed form as well as on the web.
Academic Activities Committee
Various academic oriented activities like seminars, paper presentation contests, technical quiz competitions, programming competitions, project competitions, industrial shows etc. are being envisaged.

Houses
Each House has a House Captain, House Cultural Secretary, House Games & Sports Secretary and House Academic Activities Secretary.
- House Captain: Chairman of IECAC appoints the Captain for each House. The House Captain is responsible for a) following the code of conduct defined by the IECAC b) selecting House Cultural Secretary and House Games & Sports Secretary in consultation with respective presidents and secretaries c) selecting teams for various intra house activities d) ensuring maximum participation from the house for various intra house activities e) developing team and competitive spirit f) helping the house members in improving their skills.
- House Cultural Secretary: The House Captain appoints HCS. HCS is responsible for assisting the House Captain in all matters related to intra house cultural activities announced by CAC. HCS is also be a Deputy Cultural Secretary and contributes to the overall development of cultural activities in the institute.
- House Games & Sports Secretary: The House Captain appoints HGSC. HGSC is responsible for assisting the House Captain in all matters related to intra house games & sports activities announced by GSC. HGSC is also be a Deputy Games & Sports Secretary and contributes to the overall development of games and sports activities in the institute.
- House Academic Activities Secretary: The House Captain appoints HAAS. HAAS is responsible for assisting the House Captain in all matters related to intra house academic activities announced by AAC. HAAS is also be a Deputy Academic Activities Secretary and contributes to the overall development of academic activities in the institute.
